Operational and management systems operating throughout Recoveries Corp have been refined even further since the company was recently awarded Quality certification in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
Recoveries Corp has held Quality Management Accreditation since 2001, says Human Resources Manager Terry Walsh.
“We are now one of the few companies, if not the only Company in Australia, in the debt recovery sector to hold Quality Management Accreditation ISO 9001, Occupational Health and Safety OHSAS18001, and Environmental Management Systems ISO14001,” Mr Walsh says.
“As a business we ensure that our operations comply with all relevant legislation, however many potential clients are seeking strong operational credentials. Our reputation is obviously enhanced if the work performed is certified and audited against recognised standards.”
The new accreditations demonstrate that Recoveries Corp is committed to performing at the highest standards, and that it cares about its people and the environment. The company is now also seeking accreditation in Information Security ISO27001.
Preparation for certification was an exhaustive process, even with the guidance of a specialised consultancy, but senior management was confident of the value of this effort. The process involved examining all relevant practices and modifying them to comply with a prescribed standard. Practices were then audited by a team of external assessors before certification was granted.
“The outcomes for our business are that we can now ensure our work areas are safe for staff and visitors, we have a method of identifying and resolving any non compliant issues, a procedure for reporting and investigating hazards and incidents, and we can generally ensure that systems operate efficiently throughout the company,” Mr Walsh says.
Recoveries Corp was assisted by Rohan Liyanaratchi and his team from the Quality Management Institute, who are now providing guidance for Information Security certification.
