Hardship Policy

Recoveriescorp employs a Hardship Policy to ensure clients are consistently represented in the best light to the community by protecting debtors experiencing genuine hardship.

When a collection officer identifies that a debtor is suffering from genuine hardship one of the following actions will be undertaken:

  1. Extending the period of repayment and reducing the amount of each payment due accordingly;
  2. Postponing payments for an agreed period;
  3. Extending the period of repayment and postponing payments for an agreed period; or
  4. Referral to the Australian Financial Counsellors and Credit Reform Association (www.afccra.org) for a referral to a not for profit, free financial counselling service.
